Giving is Awesome - and the winner is...

I received many, many nominations of deserving families, but this one just touched my soul.

The recipient of a portrait session and $250 print credit is Little Kennedy, nominated by her aunt, Toye.
My name is Toye and the person I believe that is deserving of the photo shoot is my new niece, Kennedy.  Our family just suffered the tragic loss of my niece...  This loss has rocked my family in a major way with the most being financial.  We did not have any insurance so we had to pay for the funeral.  My brother, Kennedy's father, works seasonally in construction and therefore does not have money to have her photographed.  Even though my brother really couldn't afford to, he helped me and my sister pay for my niece's funeral.  The financial stress of this loss, and trying to pay for my sister to get back and forth out of state to attend the trials of my niece's murderers, has caused our new niece Kennedy to be put to the back burner.

My mother and sister were not in attendance for her baby shower...I was there but my heart wasn't in it, because it was aching too badly and we didn't have any money left to get my brother a gift for the baby.  She's such a precious new baby and I think she deserves the photo shoot since her birth was overshadow by her cousin's death.

  Toye - please check your email for a message from me.  As the person who nominated Kennedy, you receive a free mini-session and $50 print credit.

I look forward to meeting this precious little girl.  May 2010 be a better year for this family.

Triplets and a Toddler! {Detroit Michigan Children's Photographer}

Michelle and I met through LAPOM (the Livingston Area Parents of Multiples).  She just had triplets (two girls and a boy) in October, and she also has a two year old.

It was SO much fun taking pictures for her.  The babies had their own agenda, but eventually they cooperated, and even Zac was up for a few shots!

Michelle's very good friend, Lisa, was on her way to the airport that morning, so we made sure to get a quick pic with her, the trio, and Zac!

I have a feeling that Zac and Nicholas might become best buds...they have a LOT in common!

This might be one of my all-time favorite pics!

Storyboards/Collages {Michigan Family Children Photographer}

Several people have contacted me with regards to the collage that I made for Courtney & Nara.

Storyboards are a great way to share multiple photos with friends and family, all while sticking to your budget.

Storyboards can be made in various sizes, however, I think that the bigger, the better, because you can include *more* photos and it looks great on your walls!

Here is another example of a storyboard (this is 11x14):

Beautiful Baby Gianna...5 days old! {Michigan Newborn Photographer}

On Sunday, I had the privilege of photographing Courtney and Nara's new arrival, Gianna.

Courtney and I met online - we're part of a group of Michigan girls that have gotten together a few times and I was *so* honored that Courtney and Nara asked me to shoot Gianna's first pictures.

Gianna was a photographer's dream. She is such a sweet baby, and allowed us to put her into the cutest little poses.

Courtney & Nara - I hope you enjoy these - she's just so gorgeous - I couldn't pick my favorites, and that's why there's so many!
