Some closeups...using the macro feature on my lens!
There's an interesting phenomenon down here...when the weather reaches freezing in SC, water in the red clay near the ground's surface bursts to the top as ice, forming interesting crystalline structures.
They're so intricate, I had to snap a few pics.

Mark, Rita & their family! {Michigan family photographer}
I've been waiting for MONTHS to be able to take some pictures of my best friend, Rita, and her family. Yesterday, we went to downtown Greenville, SC to Falls Park and took a few pics.

Happy New Year! {Brighton/Howell Michigan children's photographer}
Happy New Year from Two Angels Photography!
I feel so blessed to be able to do what I love, and provide beautiful memories for families.
On that note...I'd like to start 2010 off right...here's a special post for my best friend, Rita. This is her son, Alex, who has Autism Spectrum Disorder.
One of my goals while visiting them was to capture Alex - it can be difficult to get a good picture of him and I caught this shot of him while they were playing a new card game, Swap!
Tomorrow we'll be visiting downtown Greenville in an attempt to get some family pictures of them (and maybe us too!)

Greetings from South Carolina! {Michigan family photographer}
Hi Everyone!
Even though I'm officially on vacation, I couldn't resist taking a pic of Mark & Rita's beautiful tree...with LED lights - my first try shooting a tree with them!
Here's the end result! More pictures from our vacation will appear later on this week!

Giving is Awesome - and the winner is...
I received many, many nominations of deserving families, but this one just touched my soul.
The recipient of a portrait session and $250 print credit is Little Kennedy, nominated by her aunt, Toye.
I look forward to meeting this precious little girl. May 2010 be a better year for this family.
The recipient of a portrait session and $250 print credit is Little Kennedy, nominated by her aunt, Toye.
My name is Toye and the person I believe that is deserving of the photo shoot is my new niece, Kennedy. Our family just suffered the tragic loss of my niece... This loss has rocked my family in a major way with the most being financial. We did not have any insurance so we had to pay for the funeral. My brother, Kennedy's father, works seasonally in construction and therefore does not have money to have her photographed. Even though my brother really couldn't afford to, he helped me and my sister pay for my niece's funeral. The financial stress of this loss, and trying to pay for my sister to get back and forth out of state to attend the trials of my niece's murderers, has caused our new niece Kennedy to be put to the back burner.Toye - please check your email for a message from me. As the person who nominated Kennedy, you receive a free mini-session and $50 print credit.
My mother and sister were not in attendance for her baby shower...I was there but my heart wasn't in it, because it was aching too badly and we didn't have any money left to get my brother a gift for the baby. She's such a precious new baby and I think she deserves the photo shoot since her birth was overshadow by her cousin's death.
I look forward to meeting this precious little girl. May 2010 be a better year for this family.

My baby is 9 months old! {Livingston County Michigan baby & children's photographer}
Christopher turned 9 months old today, so I had to snap a few of him! For those of you wondering - I'm not sure HOW to describe his eye color. They change from green to gray to blue, depending on the day. His hair is a light brown.
These pics also showcase my new floor! I love it - it's laminate from the Home Depot!

What an honor. I've been chosen...
to be an Affiliated Photographer with Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep (NILMDTS).
For those of you that are not familiar with this wonderful organization, please visit their website - NILMDTS. From the website:
My girls are certainly watching over me this Christmas.

For those of you that are not familiar with this wonderful organization, please visit their website - NILMDTS. From the website:
The Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation (NILMDTS) administers a network of almost 7,000 volunteer photographers in the United States and twenty-five countries. At a family's request, a NILMDTS Affiliated Photographer will come to your hospital or hospice location and conduct a sensitive and private portrait session. The portraits are then professionally retouched and presented to the families on an archival DVD or CD that can be used to print portraits of their cherished baby.I learned about NILMDTS after losing our girls. We didn't have this service, but one of my VERY good friends that I met through LAMBs did and ever since I saw her photos, I was hoping that my skills would progress enough that I could offer my services to other grieving parents.
My girls are certainly watching over me this Christmas.

Corinne's Maternity Pics! {Detroit Michigan maternity photographer}
Corinne and I have known each other ever since I helped her find a job! It's hard to believe it's been eight years already.
She's a VERY busy lady - twins that just turned one in October and another due in early 2010! Doesn't she look FABULOUS?
Enjoy! More of the set can be located here: Corinne's Maternity Pics

Lily's 9 months old! {Brighton Michigan baby, child photographer}
You might remember Lily - she was my first person I photographed other than my children. She's SUCH a beautiful baby - gorgeous olive skin and striking blue eyes.
Kelly and I know each other from college - we met at MSU but it turns out we're both from the Flint area...and then we both had babies within of a month of each other this year...what a small world, right?
It was a lot of fun having her & her family over! Kelly - I hope you like them! Here are my favorites! The rest can be found on my Flickr page: Lily's Set on Flickr

'Jolly' Jordyn, and her brothers {Brighton/Howell Michigan children's photographer}
Last week, I got to shoot Issac & Tyler.
This time, I had the privilege of shooting their adorable older sister, Jordyn. Gena brought her over after she got home from school so we could have some fun with her!
I absolutely LOVE these first three pictures. And we got to test out my new 'wall' background too...

Trying out my gray muslin for the first time

All three kids had a case of the giggles at this point!

We had to do one with Jordyn and HER name since we'd already done the ones of her brothers and THEIR names!

And here's the 'wall' set up (note to self - get a NEW color!)
